EMI AND RFI SHIELDING

Rapid Finishing now offers our customers Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) Shielding. EMI and RFI are electromagnetic or radio wave disturbances that might negatively affect the operation of other, similar devices. This negative effect can be mitigated utilizing a process called EMI and RFI shielding. This shielding is necessary throughout many industries and Rapid Finishing is proud to be able to provide this valuable service to our (valued??) business partners.

CAPABILITIES
Rapid Finishing utilizes a variety of liquid-based coatings consisting of copper or nickel depending upon the project’s requirements. These coatings are typically applied onto plastic housings or enclosures that surround the device or component that is producing the EMI or RFI interference. The shielding process is very similar to our liquid paint process and we have the ability to complete the total shielding process in turnaround times that are second to none in the industry.

Many industries, particularly Health Care, have strict regulations as to the levels of EMI and RFI waves emitted by electronic devices. Even the Food and Drug Administration is concerned about the waves interfering with the proper operation of medical devices and has put in place very stringent standards for many of the medical equipment used today.
